Cyst Surgery

Cyst operations involve the surgical removal of fluid-filled sacs (cysts) that form at a tooth root or in the jawbone. Cysts often progress silently and are noticed only on X-ray; when they grow they can cause bone loss and harm neighbouring teeth. At Dent360, with an oral, dental and maxillofacial surgery approach, cysts are removed in a controlled manner, and the tooth is preserved with apical treatment if needed.

01 What are the symptoms of a cyst?

Most cysts are silent; sometimes swelling, mild pain or a change in tooth colour appears, and they are usually detected on X-ray.

02 Is the tooth extracted when a cyst is removed?

Where possible the tooth is preserved; the cyst can be removed together with apical treatment, and extraction is considered only for a tooth that cannot be saved.

03 Is the procedure painful?

It is done under local anaesthesia; you feel no pain during it, and afterward it passes comfortably with painkillers.

04 How long does healing take?

Soft tissue heals in a few days; bone healing can take weeks to months depending on the cyst's size.

05 Do cysts recur?

When fully removed the risk of recurrence is low; it is monitored with regular X-ray check-ups.
