Frequently Asked Questions 30

01

What kind of clinic is Özel İstanbul Diş Kliniği?

A private dental clinic in Beylikdüzü, İstanbul, providing a broad range of oral and dental care. Treatments from implants and surgery to orthodontics, paediatric dentistry, dentures and aesthetic work are carried out under one roof, and the clinic is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
02

Why are you open 24/7?

Toothache, abscesses and trauma do not appear according to office hours, and having nowhere to go when a problem starts at night, at a weekend or on a holiday is a serious gap. Being permanently open means pain and infection can be stopped without delay.
03

What are your dentists' areas of work?

The team covers implantology and oral surgery, prosthetics and aesthetic dentistry, orthodontics, endodontics (root canal treatment), periodontology (gums) and paediatric dentistry. In complex plans, more than one dentist works on the same case together.
04

What is your approach to treatment?

Pain and infection are stopped first, gum health is established next, then decay and missing teeth are addressed; aesthetic work comes last. Skipping this order causes problems soon after. The options and their consequences are set out in full, and the decision is the patient's.
05

Why do you not publish prices?

Announcing prices, discounts and campaigns for health services is restricted by regulation. The scope of the same treatment also varies from person to person; a figure given without an examination would be misleading. A written plan with cost information is given after your examination.
06

Why are there no claims like 'the best' on the site?

Claims of superiority and promises of outcome are contrary to regulation in health services. No dentist can guarantee a result; oral hygiene, smoking and attending reviews also determine it. For this reason the site carries only verifiable information.
07

What technology and equipment do you use?

Digital panoramic and periapical radiography are available, and three-dimensional imaging is used for implants and impacted-tooth surgery. Digital systems use a low radiation dose and the image can be assessed immediately, so a decision can often be made within the same visit.
08

Which brands of material do you use?

The implant systems, ceramics and composite materials used are shown in the brands section. Which system is used for you is stated in writing in your treatment plan, and the documentation is provided on request; these documents matter if you later continue care with another dentist.
09

How are sterilisation and hygiene maintained?

All instruments passing between patients are packed and sterilised in an autoclave, and the pack is opened in front of you. Single-use items are renewed for each patient, unit surfaces are disinfected between patients, and sterilisation records are kept.
10

What arrangements are there for international patients?

The site is published in full in English, English is spoken at the clinic, and the treatment plan and consent documents can be prepared in English. You can obtain a preliminary assessment by sharing radiographs before you arrive, and because the clinic is open 24/7 appointments can be arranged around your flight.
11

Is it possible to come without an appointment?

In an emergency, yes; you are seen without an appointment for pain, swelling, bleeding, a broken tooth or trauma, and the order is set by severity rather than arrival time. For planned treatment, booking prevents waiting.
12

What are my rights as a patient?

You have the right to be told the procedure, its alternatives, its risks and what would happen if nothing were done; to seek a second opinion; to request a copy of your treatment records and radiographs; to stop a procedure; and to exercise your rights regarding the processing of your data. These are set out in detail in the legal section.
13

How are my treatment records kept?

Medical records are kept for the minimum periods set by health regulation and destroyed when that period ends. The records belong to you; a copy is provided on written request and radiographs can be shared digitally. Your health data is not shared with third parties for marketing.
14

How can I make a complaint?

You can send complaints and suggestions through any of our contact channels. Stating the problem, the date and whom you saw speeds up the review. Every submission is recorded and you receive a reply; your right to apply to the official authorities always remains.
15

How do you approach anxious patients?

When anxiety is known, visits are kept short, each step is explained in advance, a signal to pause is agreed and the first appointment is often just an examination. Building the anxiety into the plan rather than dismissing it prevents treatment being postponed.
16

Are there arrangements for disabled patients?

Please tell us when booking if you are coming in a wheelchair or have limited mobility; entry, waiting and the examination are arranged accordingly and you are given a suitable time. You are welcome to come with a companion.
17

Is the approach different for older patients?

Because medication, chronic conditions and healing speed directly affect the plan, the assessment is more detailed. Appointment times are arranged around medication and meals. Denture use, dry mouth and conditions that make brushing difficult are addressed separately.
18

Do emergency patients take priority over booked patients?

In an emergency the order is set by severity; bleeding, spreading facial swelling and trauma are seen first. Because the clinic is open 24/7 and works with more than one dentist, this does not cause booked appointments to run seriously late. If there is a delay you are told.
19

Is the treatment plan given in writing?

Yes. Which procedures will be carried out, how many visits they take, the intervals between them and the cost information are given in writing. This document both clarifies your expectations and remains with you if you later need to consult another dentist.
20

Do I have the right to refuse treatment?

Of course. You always have the right to decline a proposed treatment and to stop a procedure that has begun. The likely consequences of not being treated are then explained to you and recorded. The decision is yours; the dentist's job is to set out the options and their consequences in full.
21

How many surgeries does the clinic have?

The clinic is arranged so that more than one patient can be seen at a time and emergency attendances do not disrupt booked appointments. The setting and layout can be seen in the photographs in the gallery section.
22

Is there a separate arrangement for child patients?

For children the first appointment is usually meeting and an examination; the aim is for the child to get used to the clinic without fear. A parent being present is standard practice and the procedure is explained to the child in an age-appropriate way. If they have had a bad experience before, telling us in advance changes the approach.
23

When do you refer patients elsewhere?

Signs such as spreading facial swelling, difficulty swallowing or breathing and high fever go beyond dentistry; in those cases you are directed to the nearest emergency department. For jaw joint problems, suspected tumours and certain systemic conditions, care is coordinated with the relevant specialty.
24

How is follow-up carried out after treatment?

The review is part of the treatment. Whether a filling is comfortable in the bite, whether a root-treated tooth has settled, whether an implant has integrated and whether a prosthesis fits can only be judged at a review. After surgery you are told in writing when and for which signs to call.
25

Can I continue unfinished treatment in another city?

You can. Unfinished work is left at a safe stage with a temporary filling or crown, and a written account of what has been done is provided for the dentist who will continue your care. Your radiographs can be shared digitally. Telling us as early as possible makes planning easier.
26

Where can I find the clinic's official details?

Details of the organisation, its field of activity, the limits of its responsibility and its contact details are published on the imprint page. A healthcare provider must publish this clearly so that you can verify who they are, and it is updated when anything changes.
27

How often is the information on the site updated?

Pages are updated as the range of treatments, opening arrangements and access information change, and medical content is reviewed as practice changes. The sitemap records the last modification date of every page.
28

Why are there so many area pages?

İstanbul is a large province and the conditions of travel differ from district to district. What a patient needs to know depends on where they are coming from: journey time, whether coming at night is feasible, how the appointment should be arranged. Writing this separately for each area is more useful than compressing it into a single page.
29

Which regulations does the clinic operate under?

The clinic is subject to the health regulations and promotional rules that apply to private oral and dental health providers. The Personal Data Protection Law applies to the processing of personal data. For this reason no prices, campaigns or claims of superiority appear on the site.
30

I would like to share my experience — how can I do that?

You can send it through our contact channels. Your view is valuable both for improving how the clinic works and for helping people considering treatment. Under regulation, reviews claiming superiority of outcome cannot be published; that does not mean your comment is disregarded.
